Nordic Skiing – Glide your way through our valleys

Arrow Slocan has over 78 km of groomed nordic skiing between five different ski areas. Venture out beyond the track on the many backcountry routes available.

Hills Nordic area offers 11 km of groomed trails for skate and classic ski, plus a 5 km groomed section of the Hills Rail Trail. There is a nordic race team that practices here and events are often held.

Wensley Creek Ski Trails include 7.4 km of groomed track set ski trails for nordic skiing and a day use shelter. A 1 km loop is found at the Summit Lake Ski area for nordic skiing and snowshoe.

The K&S Rail Trail is groomed with track set for 3 km from Sandon Rail station to Payne Creek. Skiers enjoy a warming hut, views and mining history. Skiers can combine the K&S rail trail with the 3km Cody Spur. The 52 km groomed track set Slocan Valley Rail Trail follows the scenic Slocan River.

Valhalla Hills Nordic Ski Club has maps/info for Valhalla Hills, Hills Rail Trail and Sandon trails. 

Slocan Valley Rail Trail has a number of sections that connect together but can be accessed separately:
• South Slocan to Crescent Valley 5km
• Crescent Valley to Passmore 16.5km
• Passmore to Winlaw 10.1km
• Winlaw to Lemon Creek 12.0km
• Lemon Creek to Slocan 8.1km

K&S Historical Trail Network is maintained by the North Slocan Trails Society.

Arrow Lakes Cross Country Ski Club maintains Wensley Creek Trails.
